Spring Creek Towers in Brooklyn, better known as Starrett City, is a neighborhood in East New York that is composed of nearly four dozen apartment buildings on over 140 acres of land. Completed in the mid 1970's, Starrett City currently serves as home to lower and lower middle income families and seniors. The development was built on top of swampland and marsh, transforming the area into what is some of the most underappreciated landscapes in Brooklyn, even over 30 years later.
This picture is the main road that goes through Starrett, Pennsylvania Avenue.
Starrett City has its own schools, stores, security force and even its own power plant. The following pictures taken are to highlight some of Starrett's positives as well as its shortcomings.
