In Starrett, there is an elementary school, a junior high school and a nursery for younger kids. They are all easily within walking distance if you are living inside Starrett City which is good news for the residents. The bad news is that it takes a considerable amount of time to get to a good high school or college from there, especially by mass transit.
As you can see from the sign, the nursery school in Starrett are for kids ages 2 to 5 years old.

The nursery actually has two locations in Starrett. This one and another one a couple of blocks away with its own jungle gym.
Here is Starrett City's elementary school, P.S. 346 attended by children from kindergarten to grade 6. It has a spacious cafetaria and an auditorium that is sometimes used for group meetings concerning Starrett. There's also a gym which doubles as a voting ground on election days. A big fenced playground sits right outside of the school.
For the most part, the elementary school is well kept from the inside and out.
Starrett City has a junior highschool for grades 7 and 8. The Jr highschool must have been an afterthought for the developers of Starrett because the jr highschool is split into two different areas and both are housed underneath a parking garage! This terrible decision lead to extremely cramp hallways between periods and the lack of onsite facilities. They have to use the lunchroom as an auditorium and gym has to be taken at Starrett City's sports center. Having the school located under parking garages is also a fire hazard. One time a car above a classroom caught on fire and started smoking up. This lead to the students having to be evacuated.
